VERDICT

The Fitbit Flex has to be the most basic tracker released by Fitbit in the recent past. It lacks the full display capabilities or even an altimeter. It is however as cheap as they come and keeps to the basics pretty well. The water resistance is a good touch but it lacks some of the features that accompany other Fitbit trackers. It is also not as stylish. It is still lacking in accuracy due to improper algorithms put in place but the comfort and affordability factors make the Fitbit Flex Wireless Activity Plus Sleep Wristband the best tracker for beginners that do not really have that great a budget to work with in the first place. If you are looking for something more serious, it is better to go for other more-recent Fitbit products.

The Fitbit Flex Wireless Activity Plus Sleep Wristband is an entry-level device in the Fitbit collection. It is the original Fitbit Flex whose performance and user reviews were used in the development of the new Fitbit Flex 2. This, however, does not make it a useless gadget in the fitness and activity tracking niche. If you are doing fitness on a budget, then this is the device for you, with the price having considerably lowered since the introduction of the new upgrade. Though it may lack a customizable design, it is still a decent tracker than can keep tabs on your activity and sleeping patterns.

Product Description

The Fitbit Flex comes with the iconic rubber wristband which is thinner but not as attractive as that of a normal watch. The hardware put in place for the Fitbit Flex Wireless Activity Plus Sleep Wristbandis basic and functions in the same way. The display is also not full in comparison to other Fitbit products. It lacks the ability to display step count and as a standalone product, it leaves a lot of questions unanswered. Once paired with the smartphone it, however, becomes a little improved in terms of functionality. the Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity makes pairing easier, but the compatibility list isn’t that long. It has a dongle for connecting to the computer and automatically syncing data whenever necessary. All of these make the Flex have a relatively low power consumption with the battery lasting up to 5 days.

The Flex lacks an altimeter that counts the flights of stairs walked it is all about the steps and not much else. Primarily designed to be clipped on garments and not tied round the wrist, the accuracy of the Flex is not that dependable. The Flex goes the extra mile to track your sleep movements and has a sort of alarm clock that can come in handy when required. The alarm is set using the mobile app.
